Commitment to Continuing Education
All of our CPA staff and many of our non-CPA staff are members of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). They are required to obtain a minimum of 40 hours of continuing professional education (CPE) each year.
Our firm and most audit staff meet the CPE and QC requirements necessary to work on engagements requiring adherence to GAGAS (Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards. All of our staff are required to obtain 24 hours of government specific CPE every two years. Also, as a member firm of the Employee Benefit Plan Audit Quality Center of the AICPA all of our staff is required to obtain eight hours of employee benefit specific CPE every three years.
Our professional audit staff meets these standards annually and generally exceeds them. In addition to the external training that our staff receives, we also participate in industry specific training sessions in order to optimize our efficiency on various engagements.
